BrainMail
A private positivity journal that texts your own thoughts back to you.
What is BrainMail?
BrainMail allows users to save affirmations, journal entries, moments of clarity,
reminders, and personal thoughts that resonate with them.
The app periodically sends those saved entries back to the user through SMS
as supportive reminders from their past self.
Users control their own reminder frequency, can remove reminders from their bank,
and may opt out of SMS messages at any time.
Privacy & SMS Usage
- Phone numbers are used only for verification and BrainMail reminder texts.
- BrainMail does not sell user phone numbers.
- Users must explicitly opt in before any SMS reminders are enabled.
- Users can reply STOP at any time to opt out.
- Users can reply HELP for support.
- Message frequency varies based on user-selected settings.
SMS Opt-In Verification
BrainMail requires explicit user consent before SMS reminder functionality
becomes available.
The consent checkbox is not preselected, and the Continue button remains
disabled until:
- A valid phone number is entered
- The user actively checks the SMS consent box
Consent unchecked — Continue disabled
Consent checked — Continue enabled
In-app consent language:
I agree to receive reminder text messages from BrainMail.
Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for support.
The signup flow also states:
“Your number is only used for verification and your BrainMail texts.”
- Consent is collected directly within the app.
- The checkbox defaults to unchecked.
- The app prevents continuation until consent is actively provided.
- Users may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
